I just love my Nikon!!!  I bought my first one, a D50, in September of 2006.  For some reason, it shit itself a few weeks ago and is service bound.  In my grief of the loss of its faithful service, I purchased a baby Nikon, a Colorpix S550, to be Mr. D50’s backup in his absence.  After all, the eagle took a massive shit; and I am assured of its monthly regularity in the future.  Also resulting from this episode of Eagle Diarrhea, Wil purchased a new desktop PC.  Where was his Windows XP product activation key?  It is permanently affixed to the to of the PC case by some sort of futuristic super adhesive glop waiting to be read by someone in a sighted household.  Where does MacGyver come in here?  I love MacGyver too and have always admired his ability to create simple solutions to life’s little challenges.  I took a picture of the top of Wil’s new PC, motherfucker, and magnified it via Paintshop Pro on my PC.  I was able to read the new product key with ease.  I am thoroughly pleased with the performance of my new 10 megapixel picture taking baby Nikon.  This goes to show you that creativity is the key to dealing with our visual limitations.  I believe the only thing that we can’t fix with a MacGyverism as visually impaired persons is the ability and privilege of driving a car.  Nikon and MacGyver mesh together very well.

Until next time…

  1. I have to agree … although, one could argue, moving to Manhattan would work around the car issue, at least locally (nobody drives in Manhattan! Are you mad?)
Of course, that creates a new problem, that being how the *HELL* to afford the essentials paying rent in Manhattan. 😛
